That's a Wrap - December
Jan 1st 2026
Harry
December was mostly spent hiding from the cold and wet weather — which naturally turned into a full Stranger Things rewatch. Partly to prep for the new series… partly because I realised I’d forgotten basically everything. Other than that, it was all about gearing up for the big day. 🎄
2026 resolution: get fitter, make swimming a regular habit, eat cleaner and cut down on sugar.

Like most of the TV world, my December highlight was Stranger Things — a brilliant ending to a brilliant show. Outside of that it was very much head-down, get-the-year-done mode… but I did squeeze in a few days in NYC between Christmas and New Year. And honestly? Times Square ads in the snow looked pretty special. 🗽❄️
2026 resolution: get down to 90kg (currently 99kg).

December for me was all about eating, drinking and being merry — lots of parties and friends-mas evenings. I binged the final season of Stranger Things and immediately went back to season 1 (they were all so cute 😭). I’ve also been loving Plur1bus on Apple TV (still so good), plus The Chair Company and I Love LA on Now TV.
2026 resolution: keep running as a priority and start pushing my distance — and read more (aiming for a book a month… but quietly hoping for more).

After Celebrity GMOOH ended (well deserved, Ginge 👏), I fully leaned into my guilty pleasure: watching many awful, cheesy, very cringe Christmas movies. 🎅😂
2026 resolution: get back into reading — I was deep in horror/thrillers at the end of last year and I’m ready for more.

Aside from getting sick right before Christmas (!!), December was mostly hibernation mode… with a lot of puzzling. We finally finished a 1000-piece Millennium Falcon puzzle (started last year)… only to discover one piece was missing 💀
Ended the month with a lovely New Year’s party and plenty of prosecco. 🥂
2026 resolution: travel more (already got two European breaks booked before March!) and keep up my 2x weekly reformer Pilates — booked until March to force myself into it.

A busy but enjoyable run-up to Christmas — meeting up with clients and suppliers, reflecting on the highs and lows of 2025, and celebrating getting through the year. Then onto the festive break, where I’ve reached the stage in life where socks are the primary gift.
That said, I did get a couple of hardbacks — which (sadly) doubled my read count for the year. Time with senior family members also meant a lot of TV, including introducing streaming box sets… so I suspect there’ll be a few more late adopters becoming SVOD subscribers in 2026! 📺
2026 resolution: more time in the saddle on the bike I bought two years ago… once it’s warm enough for lycra again.
