That's a wrap - August Edition

Aug 31st 2025

What We’ve Been Watching, Reading & Listening To — August at PASHN
Each month, the PASHN team will be sharing the media that’s inspired, entertained, or got us thinking. Here’s what’s been on our radar this month…

Harry - "Having a bit of a classic movie re-run month with the likes of The Godfather, Usual Suspects and Seven. You forget how good these films really are, I guess that's why they call them classics. Some films seem to really stand the test of time - but Seven is still the favourite after the rewatching!"

Adam - "The Helicopter Heist - Swedish robbery show on Netflix.  Rewatching Breaking Bad - feels quite slow this time round, listening to lots of German 80s Thrash metal and in the car, Case 63 Podcast show on Spotify.   I also watched Seven this month, and was delighted that _the_ jump scare still works. Quite a lot of doomscrolling in August!"

Ella - "I've been loving the Infinite Scroll podcast through August. It's a daily pop culture and industry update podcast, I find they share some really interesting insights and things happening within the media and tech industries. But I also love their random deep dives on YouTuber drama from the 2010s! We're also been binging the archives of Taskmaster recently, obsessed with Munya Chawawa and John Kearn's series."

Pippa - "I recently read Agatha Christie's 'By The Pricking of my Thumbs' which is a missing person mystery/ thriller centred around an elderly ladies home. The story unravelled in an interesting way, following the main character 'Tuppence' on her quest to find a lady who disappears without a trace from her quiet village residence. This leads down a path filled with criminal gangs, secrets and murder! I definitely was not expecting the reveal of the mastermind orchestrating events!"

David - "We have found our 'summer seats' at the Bath Picturehouse/Little Theatre with screenings timed for just after work, followed by an 'al fresco' drink at one of Bath's fine hostelries before the short train ride home.  This week it was 'The Life of Chuck' having seen the trailer before F1 The Movie.  It was certainly different from my expectations ('Its a Wonderful Life' is in my top 10 films) but it was a beautiful film with thought provoking, live affirming notes and amazing dance routines and soundtrack.  We left with a 'what just happened?' thought but having been thoroughly entertained.  Our 'seats' are now booked for the Downton Abbey Finale!"

Nikkie - "Been thoroughly engrossed in Bosch for the past few weeks/months…Nearly through season 7, with 3 more to go, before starting Ballard! Staying in for a Movie night tonight with ‘Thursday Murder Club’ on Netflix …..then the last episode of Fortune Hotel on ITV to see who takes home the £200k!"
