My first 6 weeks at PASHN

Ella Baron

February 24th 2025

Week 1:

Day one, I was up bright and early for my train to London to meet Adam at the Whats Possible Group HQ in Angel for all the onboarding essentials. We kicked things off with mandatory training and a quick rundown of all the working files before jumping into my first Monday team meeting.

Day 2, I made it to the Bristol office for my first full day with the team. We ran through some of the live projects the team was working on and discussed PASHN’s goals for 2025—looks like we have a big year ahead!

The rest of the week was spent doing a full offload of where our live clients are at, as well as booking meet-ups with some of them. The team was incredibly welcoming, and I’m excited to see what the next few weeks hold!

Week 2:

We hit the ground running in Week 2! I joined Adam on a CPA for a gaming client, which went really well. They seemed very happy with the campaign we’d delivered, and we started conversations about future campaigns (more on that later!).

On Tuesday, we took a team day in Bath to scope out our new office location (and, of course, find my new favorite coffee spot!). We’re right in the heart of the city, overlooking Lady Danbury’s house at the end of the road (for any Bridgerton fans!). We were joined by Darren from Radioexperts, who walked us through some exciting updates for 2025, followed by a delicious lunch.

Sarah, Adam, and I also got together to work on a client survey, ensuring that, as we head into 2025 and hopefully take on many new clients, we’re providing the best service possible.

I spent Friday in London with Adam meeting a few of our lovely clients and getting acquainted with Nellie Dean. We ended the week with a new business win, which is super exciting! I can’t wait to see this process through from start to finish.

Week 3:

I kicked off the week with some internal strategy planning and packing up our Bristol office in preparation for the big move. Adam and I also prepped for the Toy Fair and worked on a pitch response for a potential new confectionery client.

On Wednesday, we headed to London for the UK Toy Fair. We saw some exciting new toys, plus some great blasts from the past (Care Bears, Sylvanian Families, Top Trumps—just to name a few!). We had a fantastic couple of hours there, connecting with some interesting people and gauging interest in our UK toy market report.

Next up, we made our way across town to record an episode of Let’s Do The Right Thing with Harriet and Hannah, the joint MDs of Pablo London. It was such an inspirational conversation, and as an avid podcast listener myself, it was fascinating to get a behind-the-scenes look at how podcast recordings work. I’m excited to hear the finished episode when it goes live in early March!

Week 4:

I spent some time diving into the UK Toy Market report, pulling out further details to ensure all the data we included was as useful as possible for the recipients. Pippa was a huge help in adding extra stats and formatting.

We also began prepping for my first PASHN pitch at the end of the week, diving into research on the HFSS ban and exploring creative ways different brands might tackle this.

On Wednesday, I was in London meeting Adam at Groucho to discuss the toy report and our pitch deck. I then met with Pippa and David, and we headed to Farringdon to meet with AdLook for a presentation, followed by a tasty lunch. It was great to meet their team and learn more about their programmatic offering—we’re looking forward to our next session with them.

Back in Bristol for the rest of the week, I had a couple of supplier meetings for a potential new client. It’s shaping up to be an interesting campaign, and I’m eager to get some ideas down for the client. Adam and I also had a kickoff call with a new workwear brand looking to break into the UK market after success in Europe.

On Friday, we headed back to London to meet our friends at Active and pitch to our potential confectionery client. The pitch went really well, and it turned into a great conversation about options within the UK TV and SVOD market, which they hadn’t explored yet. As a bonus, they kindly gifted us a goodie bag, which we’ve been working our way through ever since. After the pitch, we headed to Dishoom Covent Garden for lunch. The food was amazing, and at the end of the meal, we got to roll a dice for a chance to get our meal for free. We handed over the honor (no pressure!) to the client, and would you believe it—he rolled a 6! Free lunch for everyone, and a great way to wrap up a successful day and week!

Week 5:

We officially moved to Bath and had our first day in the new office on Monday, the 3rd. I spent the week following up on some leads from the previous week and prepping for our trip to Manchester later on. We also put the finishing touches on the Toy Report and sent it off to the slide doctor, ready to be sent to new contacts by Friday.

I also had my intro chat with Parry, CEO of WPG, where we discussed the group and my future at PASHN.

On Thursday, Adam and I headed to Manchester! The sun was shining when we arrived, and after dropping off our bags, we made our way to the Northern Quarter to catch up with LadBible. We sat in their stunning social space (definitely inspiring for a future PASHN space) and chatted with Rachael about Lad Group and potential partnerships. They’re doing some really exciting work, and it’s great to explore ways we can collaborate with them.

After leaving LadBible, we headed over to PrettyLittleThing’s original Pink Pony Club, where we met with Leonie to discuss exciting changes coming for PLT and how we can support them. Afterward, we headed to Fire House for dinner—I'm now obsessed with their King Oyster kebabs and can’t wait to go back!

The next day, Adam and I dug into a research deck for a client exploring viewing trends in Canada. We spent a couple of hours in a café sorting through the info and formatting the deck before heading back home.

Week 6:

We kicked off the week by pitching to the workwear brand we’d spoken to a few weeks ago. Hopefully, we gave them plenty to think about regarding what they want to achieve and how best to do it.

David and I then headed to London to meet with an existing client to discuss strategy for 2025, and for me to introduce myself properly. After a lovely lunch at Bill’s in Covent Garden, we stumbled upon a cool Valentine's installation before heading back to our Bath base for a client call with Adam. We discussed our findings in the Canadian market and took a brief from the client. This looks like a big project we’re excited to dive into!

Following the brief, we debriefed the team and got to work! We also caught up with another potential new client to update previous plans and discuss next steps.

I introduced a new project management tool to the team, dedicating time to set it up and plan with Nikkie on what we need, ready to roll it out to the wider team next week. Who knew setting up processes could be so fun?

We also heard some exciting local news: otters have moved into Bath! We’ve been out trying to spot them by the river, but no luck so far.

As week 6 wraps up, I’m feeling excited for what 2025 has in store for PASHN and what role I’ll play in it!
